MTV’s ‘16 and Pregnant’ reality star Briana celebrates baby’s birthday with The Sugar Suite!

What a crazy surprise to receive a request for a special cake to celebrate the birthday of Briana’s 1-year-old baby Nova! The ‘16 and Pregnant’ reality star from MTV planned a garden theme for Nova’s birthday – Nova means butterfly – and wanted a beautiful, sunny cake from The Sugar Suite!

MTV invited Jennyfer to participate in a televised episode of Nova’s birthday party where she delivered the cake to Briana, Nova and their family.

Fun fact: Briana requested a chocolate cake, because she thought it would be messier for the baby. What a fun photo opportunity for Nova!

We’ll be sure to let you know when the episode is scheduled to air!

Two very Tweet Birthdays!

I love referrals! I met this client while delivering the previous post (Strawberry Blonde Bridal Shower). She has two daughters 1 and 3, whose birthdays are weeks apart. She sent me the invitation above, and I knew it would be a fun project! We made the cupcakes below along with two crash cakes (no photo sorry :( ). Crash cakes are typically for first birthday parties that the baby can dive into! I add extra buttercream for extra cute pictures!

Mac Cake

This cake commission for my IT guy by his lovely fiance. He is a huge fan of Mac (even has an Apple decal on his car)! For an extra little suprise, I added some html symbols to the text..... having no idea if it makes any sense. The blue background is actually a base, covered in fondant and sprayed with light blue food coloring. The cake is covered in white fondant (for the complete iconic Mac white look) and is actually the same height as a normal cake. I don't own a Mac, but I know that the people that do are absolutely in love with them!

Mah Jong Fever!

Ever since the first Mah Jong cake, I have had so many people ask me "what is Mah Jong?" Well, its a Chinese domino-like multiplayer game, and those who play it are crazy about it! This birthday cake was made to look like the birthday girl's own Mah Jong set complete with a jade stand. Even though this is the second cake I've done with this game, I still haven't played, but it seems like its mostly ladies who adore it..... any guys out there that play Mah Jong?
