Cobalt and Filgree Wedding Cake

Cobalt has to be on the of the most beautiful wedding colors! Its so cheerful and clean. This couple used cobalt and white details in their wedding, including the chair ties and the cobalt ribbon on the base of each tier of the wedding cake. The sides of the cake were piped with buttercream in a filgree pattern and the topper was provided by the couple. The staff at Ventura Country Club did an excellent and professional job setting up the room for the reception, kudos to them!

Graduation Mini Cupcakes

These cupcakes were made for a highschool graduation party. The client's family greeted me with a warm welcome, and became even friendlier when I told them I had made a few extra cupcakes (which they promptly tasted)

The modern elements of the home and the square wrought iron tower they provided was a stroke of luck for me because I had made white square tiles with "2009" written on them. I'd like to think that I understood the clients style, and subconciously knew what to make! :)

The senior is headed off to University of North Florida and we wish him the best of luck!

The Punisher Groom's Cake

When my client first ordered this cake, I had no clue what this was. My husband saw the cake sketch and said "oh, cool!...The Punisher!" I thought to myself that if guys know what this is, it is going to be a great groom's cake!
I love groom's cakes because it is the ONE thing they get all to themselves. The brides almost always order it, and they love getting creative!

Caribbean Leaves

This cake was made for a dear aunt who came all the way from Trinidad to celebrate her 70th birthday. Her niece wanted a cake that embodied her vibrant personality and we automatically decided that rum raisin was a MUST (extra rum in fact for these Trinis!). We also made colorful mini cupcakes in a variety of flavors to feed the 60+guests.

The client wrote me the very next day, and this is what she said...

"Jennyfer, Thank you for making my Aunt's 70th Birthday so special. She was really impressed by the cake and the colors of the cupcakes. People said it was too pretty to eat. Everyone loved the rum Raisin, like we knew they would. And the kids ate way too many of the cupcakes. Thank you again"

and she included this photo (YEAH! I love client photos of their sweets!)

Colorful Sugar Flower Cupcakes

When I went to make some Mother's Day cupcakes, I automatically grabbed for the lavender and baby-pink tint. I stopped to think about the recipients of the cupcakes, none of which were "pastel" type mothers...... so I took some liberties. Oranges, pinks, reds and yellows spice up these cupcakes and sugar flowers. I guess in the end the cupcakes should represent the personality of the recipient, not just the holiday.

Spring Patchwork Cake

When super-Suitie Nicole ordered this cake, she asked for a cake designed for Mothers Day and her grandfathers birthday........ {pause} ok, no problem!?! I immediately knew which flavors to make, lemon-poppy cake with fresh blueberries and vanilla buttercream. The design wasn't so easy to decide upon. I eneded up making a spring colored patchwork, seeing the linear/geometric design masculine enough for her grandpa and the spring-like colors for Mother's Day.

Louis-Love!

A friend of mine called me to order this cake for her mom for Mothers Day. She saw it on the blog and wanted to bring this cake to her mom's work to share with her co-workers. What a sweet daughter!

Filgree Birthday Cake

Stylin' cake for a stylin' lady! This cake was made for a childhood friend's mother, who I affectionately call Mrs. Black. She is absolutely so full of life and love, I hope I am half as lucky as her on my 60th birthday!
Oh, by the way we tried out a new flavor, vanilla-rum buttercream! I wanted to make something more than just vanilla, and rum definitely did the trick! It gives the cake a more sophisticated flavor, for this very sophisticated lady!

Airplane Cake

This airplane cake was created for a JetBlue Pilot, celebrating his birthday!
He was thrilled with the accurate number of passenger windows on the plane (I totally meant to do that! :))
